I finally got around to posting some of our sight seeing photos from the wedding I shot in Mexico in November… Obviously any photos that have me in them were taken by Chriselda.
We landed in Mexico City, got through customs, got our rental car and got lost, then we finally figured out how the gps worked and found out that it was taking us through the mountains(instead of the easy toll road)! SO it took us something like 6 hours to get to Moroleon.
For breakfast before the wedding we got some fresh tortillas.
we took a few home as well! that whole stack cost something like 250 pesos. which is a little more than $2
and a perfect addition to the fresh tortillas was some fresh avocado. I could live off that combo.
oh yeah we used the trunk of our rental as a table
I put this one in mostly for my mom, she loves photos of me working:)
this dog might look cute, but I think it wanted to eat me
We got pedicures for 20 pesos…. it was interesting

After the wedding our feet were REALLY dirty and tired, and we did not have a bath tub so we soaked them in the sink… We were way too excited about this I think.
This was an amazing breakfast, tortillas, tortilla chips, fresh avocado, and pico de gaio…

As we drove back toward Mexico City we saw the smog coming over the mountains…
Our last night in Mexico we stayed at Hotel Maria Cristina. An adorable hotel that had WIFI! We pretty much jumped for joy at getting to chill out in our room all night on our laptops. We had to take photos of our exciting activity of course. We are both on one bed because that was the only way we could both reach the outlet… Also note that we have the SAME laptop!
Downloading memory cards and backing up all of the precious wedding photos!
Checking out of the hotel.
We had time for one activity before going to the airport, we decided to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. My mom visited there when I was little and urged me to visit there as well. She said it was moving and she was not kidding around!
This is the first thing we saw when we walked through the gate into the plaza. The old Basilica is under renovations
Im not sure why all of these guys were carrying large statues on their backs with their bikes.
Some people walked across the plaza into the newer Basilica on their knees. I was moved to tears.
Mass was just starting when we arrived, the Basilica was packed…
We bought Holy Water to take home.
Blessing souvineers
This is the actual Tilma, read its story here. I learned the story when I was very young so it was REALLY cool to see it in person.
There were moving walkways under the tilma so that many people could see it.
This is in the old Basilica, the only part that we could see since the rest of it is being renovated.

Mass was going on again just before we left.
I hope you have enjoyed our adventure in Mexico. It was my first time there and I have to say it was really awesome! I am really glad that we got to see the REAL Mexico and not just a resort, despite all of the scariness of drinking water etc. I cant wait to go back!
You were in Guanajuato (GTO)! You were close to my parents place 🙂
So fun, looks like a fun adventure!
