Some words from Kaleen about her details:
I put a lot of effort in creating a fun, family event. I wanted to include family and make them see how important they are to us. So many people are traveling to be at Notre Dame with us and I want them to know how much we appreciate them. For the younger cousins, I put “Let It Go” on my wedding reception “must play list” and placemats for kids to color with.
Notre Dame is a unique and incredibly special place in my family’s heart. Brendan went to Louisville and I didn’t want him to feel as if I did not appreciate his alma mater. Thats why I incorporated the red roses into the wedding because his school colors are red.
Another important piece of the day is the ceremony. Not all of our guest are Catholic and in order for them to feel a part of the ceremony on a more intimate level I created a program that would encompass all of that for everyone.
I have chosen to do many things myself and am doing my own makeup because I can put the money towards makeup I can use again. My bridal party and I are putting together the flowers and centerpieces. I had 100 roses sent in bulk to my house and I practiced making bouquet and centerpieces and have watched lots of YouTube videos.
