Kat & Cody are Engaged!

Me and words aren’t always friends, kinda like the relationship between me and running(but that’s a different post)… I find every time I try to sit down and describe an engagement session, the same few things come to mind… it was fun, the weather was pretty awesome, and I cant wait for the wedding. There is so much more of course to each session
We consider ourselves realllly fortunate to have met the couples that have invited us into their lives! Chris and I get to know you like friends rather than just clients(and after an engagement session we often feel like we have just been out on a double date!)
Anyways, Kat and Codys engagement session was awesome of course. It was the warmest day we have seen in months and we started the session at Silver Beach in St Joseph, MI. We started on the pier which was very slushy and moved out to the shelf ice which can actually be very dangerous and I DO NOT advise venturing out on to. It was not scary at the time because it had not been thawing for more than 2 or 3 days. But in hindsight I cant believe we were so bold. My mom always told us “never walk on shelf ice” since I was little… So I doubt that we will be doing sessions like this regularly, if ever again. It might look solid, but the ice can be hollow sometimes and you can fall through! The area we walked on was probably about 15 feet up off the natural sand bottom. I do have to say though that it looks pretty amazing!!

This was her Great Grandmothers ring!!! How cool is that?

Their wedding will be in late November of this year and will have a snowflake theme so I am really glad St Joseph still had all of their winter lights up!

Chris posted some of his HERE. They are AMAZING if I do say so myself.

Absolutely beautiful! The bluff is beautiful even in winter—one of the reasons I love this area!
