Hey everyone, only one day left to enter your story for my valentines day contest HERE…. Here the story of how my husband Chris and I met.

When people ask us how we met, we usualy reply simply ‘through mutual friends’, but really there is much more than that, bands, photography, the internet AND mutual friends. The evening that set the ball rolling was March 19, 2004. I had just gotten home from Florida that day with my best friend Amy on a spring break trip. That nighthere was a show with some friends bands going on in the Chicago suberbs, and my friend Joe and I went. At the end of the show Chris came up to Joe to thank him for some vegan jerky. I had kinda noticed chris at a few other shows but never put 2+2 together. He had taken photos at alot of the same shows I was also taking photos. In fact he is IN alot of my old show photos! We even shot side by side at the metro once. He kept bumping into me, and I remember him saying “excuse me” and thinking how polite that was. Also I had bought a record from Chris at this very show because it came with a poster that had used of MY PHOTOS. He had a little record label and was the one that released the record for 2 of our mutual friends bands. Anyways so Chris mentioned to Joe that he would be at the show the next night in Laporte. I thought to myself “hes vegan, and will be at another show tomorrow. hmmmm” so I went to the show in Laporte, some of the same bands played this show also, I took photos. I drooled all night but didnt get up the courage to actually talk to Chris. It was wierd to me because I didnt even know him, but I was completely drawn to him! And heres where the internet comes into the story.
That week I found him on myspace! Found out that he was single, added him, and we started talking on AIM. We talked for hours several nights in a row. I also saw he had a Livejournal, and added him there also. On March 27(Almost immediately after I added him there) I ‘planted’ a post about wanting a boy to take me out to Soul Vegeterian on a date. Well he took the bait and comented saying “I am a boy… Lets go on a date.. Soul Veg or whatever… Seriously.”
We made plans to go out to Soul Veg March 31. Had an amazing time. Hung out a few more times and then I told him that I liked him. He felt the same. But… He lived in Naperville which is an hour and a half drive on a GOOD day. That summer we drove back and forth ALOT. and with chicago traffic in the summers it would take 3 hours one way sometimes. But completely worth it….
