A few words about the wedding from Amanda:

We are having a smaller, intimate wedding with many classic and elegant touches. We are looking forward to getting married as Adam and I have been a couple for nearly eight years!

Most of the guests are closer family and friends. We have chosen a variety of pink and ivory flowers like Cezanne roses, stephanotis, and hydrangea for our floral arrangements. At the chapel, my father will be playing two religious songs as a part of the wedding prelude on his acoustic guitar. My aunt, who is a pastor with the Nazarene Church, will be our officiant. After the ceremony, we will have a lavender petal toss and ring the chapel bell as we make our exit.

The ballroom decor will be very elegant, with damask ivory tablecloths, silver accents, crystal candle holders, crystal wall and ceiling decor, romantic votive candles, and light pink napkins for a hint of color. In the foyer, we will have an array of family wedding photos and childhood photos to add a personal touch. We will be playing a wide variety of music at the reception, including some classics, 70s & 80s dance grooves, and a few modern favorites.

We don’t have an overall wedding theme, but my hope is that our wedding will exude classic bridal elegance! Some other key words might be classy, mature, joyful, and loving.

I purchased my wedding gown and veil at Something Blue Bridal in Schererville, Indiana. My gown is by David Tutera for Mon Cheri. It is a floor-length gown of lace over ivory-and-oyster satin. It is an A-line ballgown with a jeweled bateau lace-illusion neckline. The entire gown is adorned with hand-sewn crystals and pearls, along with a glittering empire-waist belt. The gown has a sweeping chapel-length train with scalloped lace around the entire hem. Pearl buttons accent the low back of the gown.

The waltz-length veil by Bel-Aire Bridal is embroidered with beading and silver threads in a scalloped lace pattern, and attaches with a comb. My shoes are are peep-toe ivory lace and satin pumps purchased at Nordstrom. I will be wearing a crystal-jeweled hair comb to accent the veil in my hair.

Crystal tear-drop earrings and matching bracelet was purchased at Affairs Bridal Boutique in Valparaiso. My diamond wedding and engagement rings are by Michael Hill, as is Adam’s white gold wedding band.

All the men will be wearing charcoal grey tuxedos. The groom will be wearing a pale silver vest and tie with silver tie pin and pocket watch, while the groomsmen will be wearing silver ties with dark grey vests and black shoes.

Kaleen & Brendan | Notre Dame Basilica Wedding | Club Naimoli Reception

Some words from Kaleen about her details:
I put a lot of effort in creating a fun, family event. I wanted to include family and make them see how important they are to us. So many people are traveling to be at Notre Dame with us and I want them to know how much we appreciate them. For the younger cousins, I put “Let It Go” on my wedding reception “must play list” and placemats for kids to color with.

Notre Dame is a unique and incredibly special place in my family’s heart. Brendan went to Louisville and I didn’t want him to feel as if I did not appreciate his alma mater. Thats why I incorporated the red roses into the wedding because his school colors are red.

Another important piece of the day is the ceremony. Not all of our guest are Catholic and in order for them to feel a part of the ceremony on a more intimate level I created a program that would encompass all of that for everyone.

I have chosen to do many things myself and am doing my own makeup because I can put the money towards makeup I can use again. My bridal party and I are putting together the flowers and centerpieces. I had 100 roses sent in bulk to my house and I practiced making bouquet and centerpieces and have watched lots of YouTube videos.

Some words from the bride and groom about their day!

We tried to make all of the details personalized to what we like, along with match each other.

-Flowers: Centerpieces, Bouquets, Alter Flowers, Boutonnieres: We took a lot of time handpicking which flowers would be in each part of the day.

-Card House/ Card Box: Kaylee’s dad was put in charge of this! He came up with a card house 🙂

-Favors: We LOVE reusable cups! People make fun of us because we have so many, so naturally our favors are personalized reusable mason jars!

-Hashtag/ Photo booth Props: Nick constantly reads and collects comic books and super hero movies. Our hashtag is #akryptonitetoremember and many of the props in the photo booth are superhero themed.

-Table Numbers: Scrapbooked by Kaylee and her bridesmaid, Kim 🙂

-Love Story Video shown during dinner: We met with our videographer and parents. Each of us was interviewed about our relationship. Nick and I also went to Elim Christian School, where we met, and cooked a meal together, something we love to do. This will be played right as dessert is being served at the reception.

Kaylee’s dress is made by Vera Wang and was bought at David’s Bridal. She especially loves it because of the detail in the bottom half of the dress and the belt she added to it.

Kaylee’s shoes are made by Jessica Simpson and bought from Von Maur.

Kaylee will be wearing her Grandma’s diamonds for earrings, along with earrings from Macy’s.

  • Kaylee’s garter is Star Wars themed (one of Nick’s favorite things) and was bought off of Etsy.

Nick’s tux is from Men’s Warehouse.

Nick’s statement socks, along with the groomsmen’s, are from Bold Socks.

Nick’s personalized pocket watch, along with the groomsmen’s, are from Men’s Warehouse.
