  • Noopur - Monica!! WOW! That picture of the couple under the lit-up tree with the sun setting over the Hudson River… it’s breathtaking!

  • Fake lashes and photo shoot | Pardon My Frenchie - […] We then proceeded to take pictures all around our neighborhood in Printer’s Row – in front of our building – the Donohue, near the Harold Washington Library and underneath the subway tracks on Van Buren. Some of my favorite spots were places I’d never spent time before. Monica took us to the garden just south of the Art Institute where there are rows of vine-laced trees and a fountain. It was beautiful! The pictures don’t look like we’re in Chicago! At this point I was starting to get pretty cold – the temperature was hovering around low 40s and I was thanking my lucky stars I didn’t wear a dress. We saw another photographer shooting a couple and the girl was wearing a tiny dress with flats…yikes. I felt bad for her! So I decided to keep my coat on for some of the shots, which I actually didn’t mind. We meandered around Grant Park and came across a bunch of berry trees and a new “Art in the Park” exhibit. There were random vegetable gardens planted surrounded by beautiful purple flowers. We hopped right in the middle and got some really cool photos, which look like we’re in the open fields of Indiana than downtown Chicago. We took a few more in front of some of the taller buildings on Michigan Avenue near Millenium Park and headed back to our place to warm up and change into our “evening wear.” On our way back we passed by an alley that Monica loved! We got comfortable and took some “edgier” pictures there. Monica and her husband Chris do some great things with lighting to give the pictures a really different look and feel. For example, I absolutely ADORE the picture of this couple in front of the Hudson River during sunset in front of the tree. Scroll down towards the middle of the page. […]

  • Carrie - Love all of these, the ones in front the tree are beautiful.

  • Emily Karas - I am seeing more & more weddings where the bride has a bouquet made of brooches. Such a fun idea!
